We’ve all heard about lemon and its unique properties in removing acne, cleansing the face, improving skin brightness and skin tone amongst other properties. We have also definitely been advised to drink lemon juice as it flushes out impurities from off the system and also improves weight loss. But do we really know the proper way to consume or prepare this drink, well today I would be giving an insight into a proper and effective way of drinking and making lemon juice.

Now many people have become used to the habit of just cutting the lemon in half and squeezing out the juice in to a cup or mixing it into water, but when taking lemon juice the whole lemon should be taken in as the ‘juice’. When I say the whole I mean the bark, the juice, everything. But before going into the process of preparing lemon juice let’s take a look at the importance of lemon and its peels.

Lemon Peels contains more spectrum of vitamins, minerals and fibre than the lemon juice itself, things like calcium, potassium, and vitamin C that can give your menu a nutritional boost. They rejuvenate the skin, helping to remove dead cells in the skin. It softens dry elbows, brightens the skin, whitens nails,  used as a skin tonic, face scrub, household cleanser.

Lemon on the other hand also contains vitamins and minerals which help brighten the skin and improves skin glow as earlier stated in previous articles.

METHOD OF PREPARATION OF LEMON JUICE

For the preparation of your lemon juice you would need a bowl, grater and a strainer.

  1. Wash lemon thoroughly with clean water.
  2. Grate whole lemon bark and put into a bowl as shown in the video.
  3. Then cut lemon in half and squeeze out juice into the same bowl.
  4. Then cut the remnant pieces of the lemon into the same bowl as shown in the video.
  5. Then pour the mixture into a cup of water and stir.

NOTE: GRATED LEMON BARK IS ALSO KNOWN AS LEMON ZEST.
